Installing QuickTime

  • Enter any email address
  • Choose your operating system
  • Click on "Download QuickTime"
  • You will download the small QuickTime installer.
  • Start the installer.
  • Choose minimal installation, because otherwise you will get a nag screen to upgrade to QuickTime Pro everytime you start QuickTime.
  • The small installer will now download all necessary components (2.7MB for minimal installation) and install them on your computer.

Playback
Problem: The first panorama shows up but I cannot click anywhere to jump to another panorama.

Solution: The file size of the panoramas is between 0.7 and 1.5 MB you will only be able to jump to another panorama if the whole file is downloaded. Depending on you internet connection that might take several minutes. Just give it some time.

Navigation in QuickTimeVR scenes
Each section of the museum is represented by one QuickTimeVR scene. The scene enables you to jump from panorama to panorama without intermediate downloading. Only if you enter a new section of the museum a new scene needs to be downloaded.

  • Turning
    You can turn around in a panorama by click-and-hold the mouse button and the move the mouse (click and drag).

  • Zooming
    You can zoom in the panorama by either pressing the shift key or by clicking on the symbol.
    You can zoom out the panorama by either pressing the control key or by clicking on the symbol.

  • Jump top another panorama within a section/scene
    The link cursor indicates the possibility to jump to the next panorama. You can also click on the symbol to reveal the clickable areas (hotspots) in a panorama.

  • Jump to another section/scene
    The Section cursor indicates the possibility to jump to another section of the museum. A new web page will be loaded.
