With Facebook renaming itself to “Meta” and pronouncing the “Metaverse” I could not help but reminiscent on our Metaverse 1 Project that we participated in as early as 2007. This was a European Project funded through the ITEA4 Framework.
A consortium of 32 organisation from 6 countries had come together to advance the workings of virtual worlds. By creating a standard interface, the METAVERSE1 project made it possible for information to be shared between different virtual worlds and the real world and has led to the development of an international standard.
We were there the first in the Metaverse!
The Frontiers advertisement campaign on YouTube is a total disaster.
The Frontiers publisher is currently running a YouTube marketing campaign to attract editors. It is a complete marketing disaster! They mislead the audience with showing a guy in a suit instead of a real robot. They show a fake space suit! If using fakes instead of real science is Frontier’s idea of scientific integrity then no serious scientist should ever publish with them again.
This is a bicycle mount for a computer and a display unit of an ebike. It has 22mm and 32mm tubes to which computers can be mounted. The mount goes into the bar end of a steering wheel. This is paraticulary useful for recumbent bikes. The mount is designed for M5 nuts and bolts, but depending on the accuracy of your 3D printer you might need to use M4 bolts. You can download the 3D files over at GrabCAD.
Here is a technical drawing of the design:
